Mona has a great love for the theatre; as a child she was involved in some community theatre of Asian Indian cultural organizations of Phoenix, AZ. She is also a retired Bharat Natyam dancer, a classical dance form of India, and has been involved in teaching dance, choreographing dances, and giving performances in Arizona and India.
Mona began her adult acting career by playing Angela in DRINK, DRANK, DRUGGED at the Arizona State University Empty Space Theatre, which was a project involving trigger scripting, a type of theatre that invites audience participation. She was also part of the cast of THE LARAMIE PROJECT; she portrayed various characters and brought to the show a passion for further understanding, and elucidating various facets of, the human condition. She also played Mrs. Hudson in the ASU production of THE DEATH AND LIFE OF SHERLOCK HOLMES.
Mona’s recent improvisation work includes being a part of the Mop and Bucket Company in NY’s Capital District, and taking classes with Indy Comedy Sports. Mona is thrilled to be a part of Ad Liberation. She not only finds the experience of improv to be fun and a chance to further develop her acting skills, but also finds the philosophy to be beautiful and applicable in various aspects of life. Mona is a Ph.d in counseling psychology from ASU.
